Daily Joke: The Hilarious Reason the Number Was So Specific

It was a busy Tuesday afternoon at the prestigious Chicago Museum of Natural History. A group of wide-eyed tourists stood in awe before the massive, towering skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The sheer scale of the prehistoric beast was breathtaking, and the silence in the hall was filled with wonder.

One tourist, a man with a keen interest in paleontology, turned to the security guard standing nearby. “Excuse me,” he asked politely, “can you tell me exactly how old these dinosaur bones are?”

The guard, a stout man named Earl who had been working at the museum for decades, didn’t even look up from his crossword puzzle. He recited the number with robotic precision: “They are three million, four years, and six months old.”

The tourist blinked, impressed by the specificity. “Wow,” he said. “That’s an awfully exact number. Most people just say ‘millions of years.’ How do you know their age so precisely? Did you use carbon dating or some new scientific method?”

Earl finally looked up, adjusted his cap, and replied with complete, unshakeable confidence:

“Well, the dinosaur bones were three million years old when I started working here, and that was four and a half years ago!”
