Daily Joke: Classic College Comedy The Middle Finger Punchline That Shocked the Class

The air in the Purdue University Veterinary Medicine anatomy lab was thick with the sharp scent of formaldehyde and the nervous energy of two dozen first-year students. They stood in a tight, hushed circle around a stainless-steel surgery table, upon which lay a bovine cadaver draped beneath a crisp, white sheet.

At the head of the table stood Dr. Harrison, a grizzled, no-nonsense professor with thirty years of field experience and a reputation for breaking in greenhorn students. He cleared his throat, his voice echoing in the quiet room.

“In veterinary medicine,” he began, his tone deadly serious, “there are two absolutely essential qualities you must possess to survive. The first is that you cannot be disgusted by anything involving an animal’s body. You must overcome your human sensitivities.”

To demonstrate, Dr. Harrison dramatically pulled back the white sheet. Without a hint of hesitation, he reached down, firmly stuck his index finger directly into the rectum of the dead cow, withdrew it, and then calmly placed that same finger into his mouth and sucked on it.

The students collectively gasped. A few gagged. Dr. Harrison simply wiped his mouth and gestured to the table. “Go ahead,” he instructed. “Do the exact same thing. All of you.”

For several agonizing minutes, the room was frozen in sheer, visceral horror. The students exchanged panicked, wide-eyed glances. But under the intimidating, unblinking stare of their professor, peer pressure and the fear of failure won out. One by one, grimacing and holding their breath, they took turns stepping up to the table, plunging a finger into the cow, and reluctantly sucking on it, trying desperately not to vomit on the linoleum floor.

When the last student had finished, wiping their mouths in utter disgust, Dr. Harrison folded his arms and looked at the pale, trembling group.

“Excellent,” he said, a faint, knowing smirk finally crossing his face. “Now we move to the second most important quality: observation.”

He held up his hand for them to see. “Notice, class, that I stuck my *middle* finger into the cow, and I sucked on my *index* finger.”

He let the horrifying realization wash over them before delivering the final blow:
“Now learn to pay attention. Life is tough, but it’s even tougher if you’re stupid.”
